“What an amazing place, and what a beautiful landscape!
Everything is there for the children to be happy: animal feeding, egg collecting, play areas, fairy walk, stream, woodland etc and all lovely and safe for them to have a bit of freedom to run around.
The cottage is very cosy and comfortable with again, everything for the children, even toys and books which have been very much appreciated!
Thank you Carolyn, Carl, and Tamzin for a fabulous stay.

“We have had a fantastic week staying at Birchill Farm. The facilities have been great, and I think if Alfie had it his way, he wouldn’t have left the playroom and park all week!
We had a lovely time exploring the woods and playing in the stream too.
The daily animal feeds were loved by all and will be really well remembered for a long time.
Even Florence loved the experience and feeding the donkeys at only 6 months old!
We had great weather an enjoyed lots of days out at various wonderful beaches. There are so many to choose from and all relatively nearby.
Thank you all so much for a great week. We hope to get back and visit in the future.”

“We have had a fabulous week at Birchill Farm.
We got out and about all over North Devon as the farm is in a great location.
The cottage had everything we could need and the grounds have so much for the children to enjoy.

“We have had a most lovely week at Birchill Farm. It was a last minute booking but we couldn’t have chosen anywhere better if we had researched it for months!Our 2 and 4 year olds have loved everything about the farm and have grown in confidence over the week.The gnome garden and fairy walk were also enjoyed by everyone.Carolyn and family have been so welcoming and great with the children.I have a sneaking suspicion that we will be back!”

“Thank you for the best week!Farmer Raine had a great time with the animals and at the adventure playground.The Fairy walk is magical.Carolyn and her family are great hosts and nothing was too much trouble.Cannot fault the accommodation or the grounds, which are beautiful.We so enjoyed our last night toasting marshmallows on the fire overlooking the beautiful valley.5 star in everything. We will definitely be back.”

“Thank you all so much, a lovely memorable first visit to Birchill Farm.Absolutely gorgeous cottage and very well equipped.Spectacular views all around. So peaceful and a perfect spot to relax.Lovely animals, lots of fun at feeding time – great furry and feathered characters and a great opportunity to get close to them!”A great base from which to explore the area from moor land to beaches and coast paths and the wonderful Tarka Trail for bike rides or a stroll.We mustn’t forget our lovely host family! “We have had a wonderful week at Birchill Farm and feel sad to be leaving.This is out second visit and our son has loved feeding the animals and has completely fallen in love with Taco and Ember the donkeys insisting that he has to take them apples before he will consider going to bed!We have loved spending time in the gorgeous countryside and cycling on the Tarka Trail.If our son has his way we will be back again soon!”

“Thank you so much for a wonderful stay at your lovely farm.Lucy and Henry had such fun being young farmers for the week. Henry especially loved Jasper and Franklin!There are so many nice touches like the cream tea and the bread mixes (lovely to wake up to the smell of bread baking!) all of which made our stay so special.We will be back!”

“Thank you for an amazing stay in Oak Apple cottage.It was the perfect place for our two boys to explore and throw themselves into farm life!We enjoyed walks down to the stream for some paddling and a bit of dam building!The farm is just the perfect place for the boys to create lots of special memories.We will be back for sure!”

“We have just had a great week at Birchill Farm.Soooo good to be back after 3 years!Our children have had the best time feeding the animals, tractor rides, fairy walk, chocolate egg hunt etcThe group of us parents have all got on really well which has really added to a wonderful stay and the children have all gone off to play together whilst we sat and chatted at the viewpoint.It is such a safe environment for the kids to venture out on their own and gain a bit of independence.Farmer Carolyn, Carl, and Tamzin were amazing hosts and we would love to return soon!”

“We have just had a great week at Birchill Farm.Our children had such a great time that they didn’t want to leave!Carolyn, Tamzin and Nathan were great with the children and we loved all the extra things like the tractor ride, gnome garden, fairy walk and firepit.The cottage was very welcoming and super clean. There was everything you could possibly need for your stay.We got out and a about most days but also enjoyed pottering around the farm.We will be back next year.”

“Thanks for a lovely week to celebrate our grand-daughters 5th Birthday. We have had a great time and the children have loved meeting and feeding the animals. The tractor rides were a highlight of every day.We have walked all over and played in the stream – we hope the dam doesn’t cause any problems! The play area created lots of imaginative games.We hope to be back with more grand-children one day.”

“We have just come back from another wonderful stay at Birchill farm and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a break away from it all in the Devon countryside. The place is beautiful! With animal feeding each morning, a play barn for the kids with loads of toys and games. Lots of attractions and the beach is a short drive away. The owners are great hosts and work hard to make it special with lots of nice touches. Thank you :)”

“What a spectacular getaway and would highly recommend families taking the escape from your every day busy life to escape to a place not only surrounded by beauty but a wonderful and loving family who welcomed us with open arms and took care of us during our stay.I have never been away to any place more equipped for kids ranging from all ages, from all the essentials to activities and soft play area for kids for when mum and dad need a break and let’s not forget the kids get to feed the animals each morning. I cannot fault our stay and honestly would recommend taking a break away with or without kids. We look forward to planning our next return.”

“Birchill farm is an absolute gem. We are just back from our second stay there and we will definitely be booking again. Cottages have everything you need to have a stress free holiday with children of all ages. The play barns, park and daily animal feeds kept the boys entertained all week. The pizza night, fairy walk down to the river, afternoon tea, bread maker and nespresso machine were lots of cherries on a brilliant cake! Great location for visiting the beaches and other highlights in North Devon. Do not hesitate to book, you will not be disappointed!”
